Update for August

So much for my planned activities to paint or frame everyday as in my first post. However, I have painted some and framed a little but find that it is too difficult to frame some days. I ordered a new tool which drives points rather than using the hand stapler so I'm going to try that.

My daughter-in-law came for a visit this past week and she paints also when she finds time. Her mother just passed last month from dementia and she has had a very trying last several years. We went to a painting event last Friday evening at "SIPS n STROKEs" where everyone paints the same picture. You may purchase wine or not and it was fun. Not fine art but she really enjoyed it and was voted best of class.

I've decided to try my luck at having an exhibit at the FAYETTE ARTS FESTIVAL in September. So I've purchased the tent affair and have enlisted the help of my family as setting that up is too much for an old lady. We are pondering now what sort of supports we will use to hang the paintings, etc. without spending a fortune. I'm excited about this event. I have done this before in Ohio but there we just exhibited in the green area and leaned the art against a fence. Of course, I'm praying for a cooler day here in Alabama. So if you are in this area please drop in at the event. It is held at the GUTHRIE SMITH PARK in downtown Fayette, Al on Sept. 12 from 9:00am to 4:00 p.m.

Wish me luck. These events are a lot of work.
